Privacy

In short

howto.cards is a static website without cookies, tracking, analytics, advertising or content loaded from third-party servers (even the fonts are served from our own server). There are no user accounts. Games in the score pad stay on your device.

Controller

The controller within the meaning of the GDPR is the person named in the imprint.

Hosting and server logs

The website runs on a server of Hetzner Online GmbH (Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany) in Germany. To deliver a page, the web server necessarily processes the IP address of your device.

The web server keeps an access log to run the service securely and find errors. The IP address is shortened before it is stored (IPv4 without the last block, IPv6 to the /56 prefix), so it can no longer be linked to a person. The log also contains the time, the requested address, the status code, the referrer and the browser identification. Logs are deleted automatically after 14 days. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure operation).

Score pad and local storage

The score pad stores player names and scores only locally in your browser (localStorage). This data is not sent to the server and can be removed at any time in the score pad ("Delete") or in your browser settings. Under § 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG no consent is needed, because the storage only provides the function you asked for.

When you share a game, the scores are part of the link after the "#". Browsers do not send this part to the server. If you send the link via a messenger or email, however, that service processes it – so only share it with people who should see it.

The rules pages link to external sites as sources (e.g. Wikipedia or pagat.com). Only when you click such a link does your browser connect to that site; it only passes on the domain howto.cards as the origin, not the page you were on.

Email

If you contact us by email, your details are only used to handle your request (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR) and deleted afterwards unless we are required to keep them.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. As this website does not keep personal data beyond the shortened 14-day server logs, these rights hardly apply here – questions are welcome at the address in the imprint.
